Meet Winnie

This is one of the happier reasons I haven’t been posting so much this past month: our new English bulldog puppy, Winnie. English bulldogs look grumpy but are some of the sweetest, most affectionate dog breeds out there. This isn’t to say that they’re not also some of the most stubborn dog breeds out there…”who says I can’t sit on the sofa? Oh, you did, 345 times in the last twenty minutes? Whatever, I’m going to try again!” This pretty much encapsulates Winnie’s mentality. Poppy and Winnie are now partners in crime. They also insist on squeezing into one tiny corner of what is a huge dog bed together. These cute faces belie the fact that Winnie tried to eat an umbrella yesterday and Poppy has been trying to steal the dog’s kibble out of the 12 kg bag in the basement. Those of you with critters, how do you store large amounts of pet food?

What great photos! Why do I get the feeling that Poppy is in charge here?
She looks like she has Winnie pinned in the corner and is acting as the gatekeeper.
You could try a plastic10 litre bucket with a lid to store the kibble but I guess it would have to be fairly tight or she would get it off.

Welcome to Winnie! We have two cats (Flo and Tilley) and store their food in plastic containers in the pantry. Their litter is in the room with their box.

Oooohhhh hello Winnie ! Best reason there is for a blogging break :-) I’m about to welcome a new addition to my cat herd in a few weeks (one of the kittens I rescued a few weeks ago). Funny, I’m considering Winnie as a pet name too… or Woody…
Luckily my cats aren’t into stealing food (one of the only mischief they aren’t into actually !), so I can store all of their kibble in a kitchen cupboard.
