Tada! After my husband calling me a superstitious wuss one time too many for not sharing the news, the time has come to spill. We bought our first house! It’s a townhouse built in 1965 in one of Kassel’s leafier districts, close to the Habichtswald forest but still within short walking distance to shops, restaurants, the bus… and it has a (small) garden, terrace, and balcony. Can you tell I’m excited? Well I am. Reallyreallyreallyreally excited. The rather bland exterior hides a nicely laid out interior with trademark mid-century open-plan living/dining area with original hardwood floors, 3 bedrooms, master bath plus guest bathroom on the ground floor, kitchen, and huge basement storage area. There are plenty of cosmetic changes to be made, but hey! Life’s no fun without projects, right? Rest assured that everything will be documented ad nauseam on da blog, including life-changing decisions such as which colour grout to choose for the bathroom tiles and whether or not I can create sufficient visual distraction from the upstairs bedroom linoleum floors until hardwood flooring is on the cards for up there too. All will be revealed in detail when we get the keys on the 1st of August…I can’t wait!

Congratulations! Sending you digital bread and salt.
Thanks Monica! I had forgotten about that bread and salt tradition 🙂
Wow ! So exciting !!! Congratulations on this fab’ news !
And best of all, more space for collecting WGP 😉
Woo hoo! How exciting for you both. Sounds like a great place. Can’t wait to see more. xx
Haha, that’s true! I’m already dreading moving all of it…
Congrats!! Your new home looks cute as a button and I can’t wait for pics of the inside. You will have such a fun time deciding where the WGP will live inside each room.
That’s fantastic Lottie, well done! I was wondering if it could be this that you had big news about. Just think about all of that lovely space for your pottery and other retro finds! Looking forward to reading all about it already. Emma 🙂
